They were deeply emotional and had to do, I think, with her disappointment of not reaching her goals, and losing the competition. Of course, in a combat of two one has to lose, that is the game. So she shouldnt need to be sad about it. Yet that can happen. I just felt sorry for her. They were not tears that should be exploited for audience entertainment.
